*** Update NOW AVAILABLE - Firefighters rescue puppy during delicate operation - Merrylands

Published: 02 May 2025 04:58pm

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have used a hammer and chisel to carefully extract an adventurous 12-week-old puppy, stuck in a wall below a house today at Merrylands, in Sydney’s west.

“Lulu”, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, got her head stuck in a concrete block at the home in Chelsea Street, just after midday.

FRNSW crews, including rescue specialists, responded from Wentworthville and Guildford.

On arrival, they gently removed the brick and moved it to a more accessible location to free the distressed puppy, using a shield to protect her neck.

Moments later, the pup was freed without injury and reunited with her grateful owner.
