Firefighters contain large industrial fire - Marrickville
Published: 19 Jun 2025 09:23am
Around 60 firefighters have contained a large blaze that’s destroyed a factory-warehouse this morning at Marrickville, in Sydney’s inner west.
The fire broke out around 3.15am and spread through the roof of the Cook Road building.
Sixteen fire trucks, including ladder platforms, responded to the incident as the building partially collapsed.
Fire crews battled intense flames and have prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring businesses.
There have been no injuries reported and there were no evacuations required at the site.
NSW Police and ambulance paramedics are also at the scene, providing support.
Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the fire and once doused, they will determine whether it’s safe to enter the building to establish the cause of the incident.
Local residents are advised to keep their doors, windows and vents closed to avoid the effects of the resulting smoke plume.
