Firefighters rescue collapsed woman from burning home - Daceyville

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters have rescued a woman from a house fire in Daceyville overnight.
Just after 12.15am, FRNSW received Triple Zero (000) calls to a fire in a home on Colonel Braund Crescent.
Five fire trucks and more than 20 firefighters were responded to the scene.
On arrival, firefighters found the front of the single-level home well alight, with flames issuing from the front windows.
Firefighters entered the home and began attacking the fire. The house was filled with thick, toxic smoke, down to floor level.
While extinguishing the blaze, crews searched the premises and located a semi-conscious woman near the back door.
Firefighters carried the woman to safety and administered oxygen until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived. The woman was transferred to hospital for smoke inhalation, and possible airway burns.
Firefighters contained the fire in approximately 20 minutes.
FRNSW investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire, however a heater in a bedroom is a current focus of the investigation.
FRNSW encourages households are to follow these tips in the cooler months:
- Make sure you have a working smoke alarm
- Keep all flammable items at least 1 metre from the heater/fireplace
- Clean the lint filter in your dryer before use
- Don’t overload power boards or power points
- Plug big electrical appliances like heaters straight into a power point - not a power board
