House Fires - Werris Creek

Just before 10am this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to a home on Dewhurst Street, Werris Creek after receiving multiple Triple Zero (000) calls reporting a house fire.
Crews from Werris Creek, Quirindi and South Tamworth Fire Stations arrived on scene shortly after to find large volumes of smoke and flames issuing from a single level home.
Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service worked for over 90 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
NSW Police are in attendance, investigations into the cause are ongoing.
Shortly after, Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called Single Street, Werris Creek after receiving reports of a fire in the switchboard of a home.
Crews from South Tamworth and Quirindi Fire Stations arrived shortly after and confirmed a solar panel switch had caught fire.
Firefighters rendered the switchboard safe by checking for hot spots with a thermal imagining camera to make sure the fire was completely extinguished.
The two fires do not appear to be linked.
