Worksite Rescue - Strathfield

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) assisted in the removal of an injured person and the stabilisation of an excavation site following an incident at a worksite on Broughton Road, Strathfield this morning.
FRNSW arrived to find a construction worker injured from falling debris at the bottom of a five metre deep excavation.
Attending FRNSW crews worked alongside NSW Ambulance to ensure the patient was stable and shored up the sides of the excavation to prevent further debris from falling.
NSW Police Rescue attended to undertake vertical rescue and assist in removing the patient from the excavation.
The injured person was safely removed using a FRNSW ladder truck and transported to hospital.
