Structure Fire - Lansvale

Around 70 people were evacuated from a commercial premises on the Hume Highway at Lansvale after a fire broke out inside the building today.
Over 30 firefighters utilising 10 vehicles, including two 'cherry picker' ladder platforms, responded to the fire at 2:23pm which caused the temporary closure of the the Hume Highway from heavy smoke.
The quick response from firefighters ensured that the fire did not spread to neighbouring properties and three people were evacuated from a nearby building as a precaution.
The attending crews brought the fire under control shortly after 3pm.
Crews remain on scene mopping up.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
