Carbon Monoxide Poisoning - Wollstonecraft

Just before 12:30pm this afternoon, Fire and Rescue NSW were called to Belmont Avenue, Wollstonecraft after reports were received of two workers suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning in an underground car park.
Crews from Crows Nest Fire Station arrived on scene to find two people who had been impacted by carbon monoxide being treated by NSW Ambulance.
The workers were using a petrol-powered high pressure cleaner in an underground car park with little ventilation.
Firefighters entered the car park and used a gas detection monitor which found high readings of carbon monoxide.
Crews are currently ventilating the car park with fans and are continuing to monitor the atmosphere.
NSW Ambulance has transported two people to hospital.
NSW Police also attended the incident.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson stressed the importance of the safe use of petrol-powered equipment.
"Please ensure all manufacturer's instructions are taken into account, and that areas are properly ventilated when using fuel-burning equipment."
