Drill Night Live
Drill Night Live 10 has concluded. A recording of DNL10 will be available on FireTube+ soon.
Details
Tuesday 20 May at 7pm to watch Drill Night Live 10 - Structure Collapse
During fire and other emergency incidents, structure collapse poses a risk of injury or even death to firefighters. This is as true at a single pump call as it is a large incident. It can occur in the middle of the city or in a country town.
We strive to do everything we can to keep our people safe by managing the risks that are presented to us on the incident ground. We can prepare by referencing our training material, conducting drills that keep the risk of structure collapse in mind, and by adopting FRNSW Standard Operational Guidelines.
On 20 May, you and your crew can also watch as Drill Night Live presents an in-depth analysis of structure collapse.
During Drill Night Live, you will hear directly from crews that responded to the Surry Hills 10th Alarm incident, including the first arriving station officer. It was the actions and decisions of this officer that is credited with saving the lives of over a dozen firefighters.
You will also hear from:
- Operational Safety, about the prevalence of structure collapse and common injuries encountered.
- Emergency Management, where we will look at how incident management helps to keep everyone safe.
- Natural Disaster and Humanitarian, about how our rescue and USAR capabilities can support crews across the state.
Join on the night so you can ask your questions live, or send them anytime to dnl@fire.nsw.gov.au.
