Just before 11:00 am today, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) received multiple Triple Zero (000) calls of a house fire with smoke and flames issuing from the roof at Bromly Grove, Parklea.
More than 20 firefighters battled the blaze for over an hour and prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.
The second floor of the residence was significantly damaged from the fire with smoke and water damage to the remainder of the home.
Five residents self-evacuated and there were no reported injuries.
NSW Police and NSW Ambulance were also in attendance.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
