Hazmat Incident - Bushells Ridge

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) are currently on scene of a B Double truck leaking Hydrochloric Acid northbound on the M1 motorway, Bushells Ridge
On arrival, fire crews have called for our FRNSW specialist hazmat station to assist and have found a leak in the rear of the truck. Crews have set up an exclusion zone.
Crews are covering the leak, which is from an overflow value, with soda ash and will be assessing the truck before they move it off the M1
Northbound on the M1 is currently closed at the incident site until the truck can be moved
2 Police officers are being assessed for minor breathing difficulties after inhaling fumes from the truck
NSW Police and Ambulance NSW are on scene
The truck will be moved off the M1 to Morriset for further assessments
