Request a joint inspection
Local government authorities may request FRNSW to undertake a joint inspection in relation to the fire safety provisions of an existing occupied building.
Overview of service
Under section 9.32 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, local government authorities (i.e. council) and consent authorities may request FRNSW undertake a joint inspection in relation to the fire safety provisions of an existing occupied building.
Charges for service
There is no charge applicable to local government authorities and consent authorities seeking comment on an occupied building.
Application process
To request a joint inspection, the following must be completed and submitted to firesafety@fire.nsw.gov.au:
- Request a joint inspection form
- Relevant documentation such as a copy of the current fire safety schedule, development conditions, development control orders, water supply performance (including pressure and flow), plans and specifications etc.
Note: The form must include all relevant information. If any attachment exceeds 35 MB, please request a FRNSW SharePoint folder for uploading any large files.
