Fire and Rescue NSW are joining with the NSW Rural Fire Service and the National Parks and Wildlife Service to conduct multiple hazard reduction burns around the Greater Sydney, Shoalhaven, Illawarra and Myall Lakes regions today.
Taking advantage of optimal weather conditions, the hazard reduction burns will be conducted in the following areas:
- Huskisson
- Narrawallee,
- Horsely
- Helens Park
- Barden Ridge
- Katoomba
- Glenorie
- Maraylya
- Lower Portland
- Smiths Lake
It is possible the hazard reduction will create smoke across parts of the Sydney Basin and other affected areas of the Shoalhaven, Illawarra and Myall Lakes regions ahead of a southerly change and possible showers on Wednesday.
