Man injured in lithium battery explosion - North Wollongong

A man has suffered significant facial injuries following a lithium battery explosion in North Wollongong.
 
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) was called to a business in Ralph Black Drive around 1.30 pm after reports of a loud blast.
 
Firefighters found a small amount of smoke issuing from the property and a fire. Crews quickly extinguished the flames and ventilated the building.
 
NSW Ambulance treated a man at the scene for burns and prepared him to be airlifted to hospital.
