Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) extinguished a house fire in Prestons in Sydney's southwest yesterday afternoon.
Crews responded to the incident on Plukavec Circuit just before 3:30 pm.
Firefighters reported large volumes of smoke en route to the property and called for more resources.
On arrival, crews found a two-storey home well alight. They battled the blaze for an hour before gaining control.
Firefighters extinguished the fire at 5.30 pm but the house was completely destroyed.
One person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation by NSW Ambulance and all other occupants were accounted for.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
