Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have helped rescue a man whose leg was impaled on a fence last night at Strathfield in Sydney.
The man was scaling the 2.5m fence just before 7pm when he slipped.
FRNSW Rescue crews from Burwood attended the scene, along with NSW Police and paramedics.
On arrival, their first priority was to use a ladder and ropes to relieve the suspended man's weight off his injured leg.
Firefighters then worked to carefully cut the metal that pierced his leg.
The man was then lowered and transported to hospital in the care of NSW Ambulance crews.
Senior Firefighter Marty Arango was one of the firefighters who attended this incident last night. He outlined the actions taken by combined emergency services.
