Man rescued from Roof - Gordon

An injured man trapped in the rain on the roof of his two-storey home has been rescued on the upper north shore of Sydney earlier today.
The 50-year-old male had fallen and dislocated his shoulder after trying to repair his roof from leaking at Park Avenue in Gordon.
Firefighters provided the man with emergency medical care and protected him from the rain when crews arrived first on the scene just after 7:30 am this morning.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) used safety harnesses secured to the roof so NSW Ambulance could administer pain management to the patient.
The specialised rescue crews placed the man in a harness and with the use of a ladder safely escorted him through a window on the upper level of his home.
NSW Ambulance transported the patient to hospital.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
