Two abandoned house fires in Guildford - Guildford
Published: 24 Feb 2022 07:00pm
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) extinguished fires in two separate abandoned houses in Guildford last night.
Crews arrived at the first house on Kane Street around 7:00 pm and found the single-level property well alight. Firefighters battled the blaze for 90 minutes before bringing it under control. No other neighbouring properties were under threat.
Just after 10.00 pm, crews responded to another house fire in the area. The property was well alight when firefighters arrived at the Guildford Road property. Crews contained the blaze, which completely destroyed the house, in just over an hour.
NSW Police attended both incidents.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
