Car into Bakery - Wamberal

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) responded to a single-vehicle motor crash in Wamberal on the NSW Central Coast earlier today.
Firefighters arrived just before 10.00 am and found a car lodged in the front of a bakery on The Entrance Road.
The driver managed to exit the vehicle with no injuries however there was significant damage to the front brick wall of the shop.
Crews evacuated six people from the unit complex above the bakery as a precaution.
Firefighters assessed the structure and deemed it safe before allowing residents to return to their homes.
NSW Police were also in attendance.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said a large amount of electrical energy is discharged when lightning strikes a house, tree or car.
Community members are urged to keep up to date with local weather events that may impact their area.
"During a storm, stay indoors where possible to protect yourself, your loved ones and your pets. However, in the event of a fire, get out, stay out and call Triple Zero (000).”
