Published: 02 Feb 2022 01:18am
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have extinguished a fire that has badly damaged a home overnight at Macquarie Fields in Sydney's south-west.
10 firefighters arrived at the Grevillea Crescent home just after 1am and were confronted by the single level house well alight.
Fire crews, wearing breathing apparatus, battled large flames at the front of the home and extinguished the blaze.
No-one was inside the house.
FRNSW has referred the matter to NSW Police for further investigation.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
