Large Shed Alight - Gunnedah

Time of incident: 21 Nov 2021 - 9:10 pm

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have extinguished a large blaze on a property at Gunnedah in the state’s north-east.

Fire trucks responded to the Mathias Road location just after nine o’clock last night and discovered a shed, measuring 10 metres by 10 metres, ablaze.

Wearing breathing apparatus, eight firefighters entered the shed and found several vehicles alight.

The crews also secured highly volatile liquid gas cylinders on site.

The fire was doused and the scene handed over to NSW Police.

FRNSW Superintendent Scott Dodson said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
