Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) saved several apartments from fire damage following an electrical fire outside a unit block at Guildford in Western Sydney earlier this afternoon.
More than 20 Firefighters worked quickly to protect nearby homes from the electrical transformer issuing large flames between two unit blocks when crews arrived at Cross Street around 2:00 PM.
All residents self-evacuated prior to FRNSW arrival and no injuries were reported.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
