Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) extinguished a trailer that was on fire at Banora Point in Tweed this morning.
Firefighters were confronted with a man suffering burns and smoke issuing from the rear of an enclosed trailer when crews arrived on Ashgrove Place at 10:41 AM.
Firefighters quickly controlled the fire and provided emergency medical care to the injured worker until NSW Ambulance arrived.
The worker had been refueling his water blaster in the back of the trailer when fuel spilled causing the fire. He was subsequently transported by NSW Ambulance.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
