Silo Fire - Mallanganee

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and NSW Rural Fire Service are working on extinguishing a Silo fire at Culmaran Creek Road, Mallanganee that caught fire overnight.
FRNSW arrived on scene to find a 200 Tonne Silo containing corn alight. Crews established a restricted access zone around the area and began cooling the Silo using water monitors.
Firefighters have recorded a significant temperature decrease inside the Silo and the fire is beginning to reduce.
HAZMAT specialists have been monitoring water run off.
The Environment Protection Agency has been notified and the operation is ongoing.

MALLANGANEE | #FRNSW and #NSWRFS crews are working to extinguish a silo fire in a town just west of Casino. Crews were called at 12:33 am and have contained the fire to the single silo. They will work into the morning to extinguish it fully.
