Just after 6:30am this morning Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) received multiple Triple Zero (000) calls to a house fire on Titanga Pl, Bourkelands near Wagga Wagga.

Firefighters arrived to find a house was well alight with reports of animals still inside, they quickly got to work to extinguish the fire.

Multiple crews from across the state’s south were in attendance to quickly bring the fire under control, fortunately several domestic pets were saved.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said FRNSW is attending numerous house fires and that it was a timely reminder for residents to develop their fire escape plan.

"Now is the time for residents to check they have a working smoke alarm and that all members of the family have an awareness of calling Triple Zero (000) in an emergency," he said.
