Unit Fire - Canterbury

Just after 6pm this evening Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) responded to multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) to smoke issuing from a unit on Charles St, Canterbury.
Firefighters arrived to find a unit on level three of the building with smoke issuing. There were also reports of one person possibly missing inside.
Fire crews from Sydney’s Inner West gained entry to the apartment and quickly controlled the fire.
Other levels of the building were checked for occupants and evacuated.
Charles and Broughton streets were closed and monitored by NSW Police.
