Truck Fire - Coolongolook

Just before 9:30pm, Tuesday 17 November, Fire and Rescue NSW responded to the Pacific Highway near Locketts Crossing Road, Coolongolook following reports of a truck fire.
Upon arrival, crews from Forster, Taree and Tea Gardens Fire Stations found one semi-trailer carrying five cars fully involved in fire.
Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service worked quickly to control the blaze, however the truck and trailer were totally destroyed by fire.
The truck driver managed to escape from the vehicle and was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance before being transported to hospital.
NSW Police closed the Pacific Highway south bound for over two hours until the incident was cleared.
