Counter-terrorism

Our Counter-terrorism and Aviation Unit was established in March 2003 to manage the planning, development and implementation of our counter-terrorism and aviation capability.

It is a vital component of a whole-of-Government counter-terrorism strategy which incorporates agency partnerships, resource-sharing and complementary operations to enhance emergency service delivery to the people of NSW and to protect our environment.

The Unit has developed a corporate Security Alert Policy which aligns with Federal National Security Alert Levels. This policy sets out enhanced security procedures and physical security arrangements to protect Fire and Rescue NSW personnel and critical infrastructure.
