Moorebank factory fire
Published: 29th October 2008
Firefighters were involved in a lengthy incident today in Seton Road, Moorebank where 16 pallets of bagged charcoal were on fire inside an industrial unit. Firefighters from Busby, Cabramatta, Horningsea Park, Revesby, Fairfield, Chester Hill, Hazmat specialists from Greenacre, two Duty Commanders and the Zone Commander attended the fire. The industrial complex was evacuated due to the large amount of smoke coming from the charcoal as firefighters wearing breathing apparatus hosed down the charcoal and used a forklift to remove the bags from the unit. A front end loader was also used to break up and remove 10 tonne of charcoal and put it in a large skip bin after fire crews had doused the product with water.
