Airds townhouse fire

Published: 28th May 2008

Fire crews from Campbelltown, Rosemeadow and St Andrews were called to a fire in a townhouse in Romney Way at Airds this afternoon. Firefighters arrived to find all of the occupants safely out of the house and the top storey of a two storey townhouse ablaze with the fire spreading into the adjoining townhouse. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used fire hoses to stop the fire spreading and were able to contain the blaze to the top level. The top storey suffered severe damage but the actions of firefighters saved the remainder of the townhouse and the adjoining premises. One person was examined by ambulance officers for smoke inhalation.
