Gas leak in Cranebrook

Firefighters from Cranebrook, Regentville and Hazmat specialists from St Marys were called to a strong smell of gas coming from stormwater drains in Borrowdale Way at Cranebrook this morning. Fire crews used a gas detector to confirm the build up of gas and closed a section of Borrowdale Way as a safety precaution. Firefighters located the leak and gas company representatives brought in heavy equipment to access the leak and rendered it safe in the evening.
