Canley Heights house fire

Firefighters from Fairfield, Cabramatta and Busby attended a house fire in Arbutus Street in Canley Heights this afternoon. Numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received and the smoke from the blaze was visible to firefighters on the way to the incident. On arrival there were reports of people still inside the house with the rear of the property on fire. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and carrying fire hoses immediately entered the house to search for any occupants and to stop the fire spreading. Luckily there was no one home at the time of the blaze and fire crews quickly extinguished the fire. The rear of the house was severely damaged in the fire.
