Fire crews from Crows Nest and Neutral Bay responded to a house fire in Lumsden Street at Cammeray this evening. The first firefighters arrived within five minutes to find a fire in the rear of the house. Crews evacuated one resident who was suffering from burns and smoke inhalation and administered first aid until ambulance officers arrived. Fire crews contained the fire to the rear of the house and removed sections of the roof to completely extinguish all traces of fire. The roof and rear of the property were substantially damaged and the resident was taken to hospital.
