Factory fire in St Marys

This evening numerous Triple Zero (000) calls were received to a fire in a factory in Kurrajong Avenue in St Marys. Fire crews from St Marys, Dunheved, Mount Druitt, Penrith and Blacktown responded to the address with crews arriving within six minutes to find the large building on fire. Firefighters contained the fire and cooled and removed acetylene cylinders greatly limiting possible damage. The fire which involved a backhoe, was extinguished within half an hour and crews assisted with the clean up.
