House fire in Dapto

Fire crews from Dapto, Unanderra, Wollongong and Shellharbour responded to a house fire in the early hours of this morning. Firefighters arrived at the Baan Baan Street address within minutes to find the single storey house ablaze and neighbouring properties under threat. After setting up protection for the adjoining houses and containing the fire, a thorough search was conducted and all residents accounted for. Once the fire was extinguished firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire had not spread into other areas of the house. The building suffered extensive damage.
