Podcast with the Commissioner and Ross Greenwood

Published:

In this Podcast, Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Commissioner Greg Mullins and Channel Nine/Radio 2GB financial media commentator, Ross Greenwood, discuss some of the drivers that may be influencing dangerous fire safety practices and behaviours by some sections of the community.

Recorded at 040 Willoughby Fire Station, Commissioner Mullins and Ross Greenwood discuss recent incidents attended by firefighters where a number of alarming observations were made in regard to: improper LPG use, unsafe use of candles, unsafe storage of highly flammable materials and incorrect use (indoors) of outdoors heating and cooking equipment.

Ross discusses some of the economic and socio-economic drivers that may be influencing people’s decisions to undertake unsafe practices.

Both Ross and Commissioner Mullins discuss the invaluable role firefighters throughout NSW play in ‘looking for the signs’ of danger when entering a property and side effects of financial strain that may be driving dangerous and unsafe behaviours in the community.
