Bus Fire on the Gore Hill Freeway
Published: 6th July 2010
Fire rescue officers from Crows Nest, Lane Cove, Neutral Bay and Willoughby responded to a bus alight southbound on the Gore Hill Freeway early this evening. The first crew was on the scene in eight minutes and found a tour bus totally involved in fire. They immediately got to work with hoses to extinguish the fire. The driver and passengers had already got off the bus with the help of two off duty police officers. The driver was treated by ambulance personnel and taken to hospital. After the fire was extinguished, the crews worked with the police and RTA to open the lanes and get traffic moving as quickly as possible.
