Kitchen fire in Earlwood, plus a fire at Lithgow Valley Plaza

Crews from 3 fire stations today were involved in extinguishing a kitchen fire in Earlwood. The fire occurred at 5.40 pm, and caused damage to the kitchen area and surrounding rooms, and was extinguished by the 12 firefighters who were in attendance for 1 ½ hours. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, crews from 4 stations in the Lithgow area were involved in extinguishing a fire in an air conditioning unit at Lithgow Valley Plaza. Power was isolated to the unit. A Thermal Imaging Camera was used to ensure there was no spread of fire in the roof area, after which the plaza was able to re open. Crews were at the scene for over 1 hour.
