Fire in private hotel at Coogee

Published: 7th October 2009

Firefighters from Randwick and Maroubra received a call this afternoon to a fire in a building on Coogee Bay Rd. Upon arrival, the firefighters found a fire in a room on the second level of a private hotel with the smoke filling the adjacent hall. They quickly attacked the fire with hoses and were able to extinguish the fire before it spread. The firefighters then ventilated the hotel with fans that forced the smoke out of the building. One resident was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
