Building fire in Guildford

Firefighters from Guildford, Fairfield, Merrylands, Chester Hill and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a building on The Esplanade, Guilford in the early hours of this morning. Crews were on scene in eight minutes to find a single level building totally engulfed in flames. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked for several hours to extinguish the fire and had to overcome a partial roof and wall collapse, live power lines and the presence of LPG cylinders in the building.
