Building fire in Lismore

Early this morning firefighters from Lismore and Goonellabah responded to a fire in a building in Magellan Street, Lismore. Crews were on scene in nine minutes to find a building engulfed in flames with nearby buildings under threat. Fire crews evacuated several people from the immediate area as the fire was contained and extinguished in around one hour. Ceiling sheets from the building were removed to access several concealed areas of fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
