Fire in smash repairers at Matraville

Firefighters from Matraville, Maroubra, Botany, Mascot and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a smash repairers in McCauley Street, Matraville this morning. Fire crews arrived within eight minutes to find a fire on the top level of the two storey building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus forced entry and their quick actions contained the fire to the office area minimising damage to the remainder of the building. The fire was extinguished in half an hour and crews carried out clean up work.
