Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have rendered safe a street at Denistone in Sydney's north-west, where a semi-trailer and crane it was carrying, careered into 11 parked cars.

The incident occurred in Ryedale Road just after 11.30am.

When FRNSW crews arrived, they discovered the truck had rolled downhill into a gutter and jack-knifed into the front yard of an adjacent home, hitting cars along the way.

The crane on the back of the semi-trailer slid onto the steep roadway and also impacted vehicles parked in the street.

No-one was injured in the incident but two power poles were snapped in half by the impact, causing a local blackout.

NSW Police are investigating what caused the mishap.

Firefighters suspect the incident occurred as the crane was being unloaded.
