Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and NSW Police are investigating the cause of a major factory fire overnight at Minto, in Sydney’s south-west.
As the first fire crews, responding to multiple Triple Zero (000) calls, approached the blaze in Huntsmore Road just after 10.30pm, they spotted flames leaping up to 20-metres high and called for additional resources.
Sixteen fire trucks and more than 60 firefighters rushed to the scene and worked furiously to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring businesses.
The blaze was very intense with wooden pallets fuelling the flames. FRNSW deployed aerial platforms to attack the fire from above.
Police and Ambulance crews supported firefighters during the incident.
There were no reports of injury.
A storage section of the site suffered significant damage.
FRNSW’s Fire Investigation and Research Unit (FIRU) will be assisting police to determine what started the blaze.
