Shop fire in Blacktown

Early this morning firefighters from Blacktown, Seven Hills, Huntingwood, Schofields, Kellyville, Parramatta and the Duty Commander responded to a fire in a group of unoccupied shops in Bedford Road, Blacktown. Fire crews were on scene in six minutes to find a fire on the second level of the two level group of shops. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus contained the blaze and protected adjoining premises. The fire was extinguished in less than two hours with several shops severely damaged by the fire and the remainder of the building suffering heat and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
