House fire in Albion Park

Just after midnight firefighters from Albion Park Rail, Shellharbour, Dapto and the Duty Commander responded to a house on fire in Sirius Place, Albion Park. The first fire crews to arrive found the fire had travelled into the roof of the single storey house and firefighters battling the blaze were concerned about the structural integrity of the roof. The fire was extinguished in less than one hour with the house extensively damaged and the roof collapsing. Four people were taken to hospital, three with smoke inhalation and one with burns. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
