Greenacre factory fire

Published: 2nd November 2008

This evening firefighters from Bankstown, Lakemba, Revesby, Riverwood, Parramatta, Campsie, Concord, Guildford and two Duty Commanders responded to a fire in an automobile workshop in Brunker Road, Greenacre. The first fire crews arrived within five minutes to find the building engulfed in flames with the fire burning through the roof. Extinguishing the fire was difficult because the roof and a wall collapsed with firefighters using a hydraulic ladder fire engine to access areas of the fire. Firefighters battled for nearly two hours to contain and extinguish the fire. The building suffered extensive damage to both the structure and contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
