Restaurant fire in Lansdowne

This evening firefighters from Chester Hill, Fairfield, Cabramatta, Parramatta, Guildford, Liverpool, Bankstown, Hazmat specialists from Greenacre and two Duty Commanders responded to a restaurant on fire in Henry Lawson Drive, Lansdowne. Fire crews were on scene in five minutes to find the top level of the three level restaurant totally involved in fire. A hydraulic ladder fire engine and numerous fire hoses were used by firefighters to contain and extinguish the blaze. Two LPG cylinders were removed from the area to prevent involvement in the fire and Hazmat specialists monitored the water run-off from the fire as the restaurant was near the river. Firefighters battled for over two hours to extinguish the blaze which caused extensive damage to the building. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
