Factory fire at Ryde

Firefighters from Ryde, Gladesville, Rhodes, Eastwood, Parramatta, Concord, Rydalmere, Drummoyne and Hazmat specialists from Greenacre responded to a factory fire in Blaxland Road, Ryde in the early hours of this morning. Fire crews were on scene within five minutes to find a fire, which was burning through the roof, on the second level of the building. A hydraulic ladder fire engine and numerous fire hoses were used to contain the blaze to the building and protect neighbouring properties. The fire was extinguished in less than three hours, the building and its contents suffering extensive damage. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other properties.
