Fatal unit fire in Wyong

Late this afternoon firefighters from Wyong, Berkeley Vale and the Duty Commander responded to a unit fire in Warner Ave, Wyong. Crews arrived within seven minutes to find a very fierce fire in a ground floor unit. Firefighters were quick to mount an aggressive fire attack to contain the fire and commence search and rescue. The fire was brought under control and extinguished quickly. A man was rescued from the unit and firefighters began performing CPR. Tragically the man was pronounced dead by Ambulance officers upon their arrival.
