Semitrailer Crash on Far North Coast

At 7.25am firefighters responded to an accident involving three semitrailers on the Pacific Highway, Broadwater on the far north coast. Responding fire crews from Evans Head, Goonellabah, Ballina, Lismore, and Brunswick Heads were confronted with an horrific crash which involved two northbound and one southbound semis. Tragically two of the drivers were killed in the accident. Broadwater public school was closed for the day due to the accident. It took fire crews more than eight hours to clean up the crash site. Police, Roads and Traffic Authority and Rural Fire Service personnel assisted in dealing with the accident.
